More about the operator

About

Anantara Zanzibar is being built on the island's north coast, a few minutes from Nungwi — the area with Zanzibar's best beaches, where the sea stays close even at low tide. The 12.8-hectare site will hold 231 units: Hotel Suites, Lagoon Suites, penthouses and private villas.

The resort will be run by Anantara, the luxury brand of Thailand's Minor Hotels. All units except the residential villas join a rental pool under a 25-year management agreement: the hotel lets them and shares income with the owner. Plans include a Sumosan restaurant, a spa and a beach club.

Income and ownership

The developer expects 12–15% a year at 60–80% occupancy — a forecast, not a guarantee. Owners can stay in their unit up to 15 days a year. Title is a 99-year leasehold.

Payment and timeline

35% on signing and the remaining 65% over 18 months. Completion is planned for 2027. Stone Town is about an hour's drive.
